May in Photos

HI All! May was packed full with graduation parties, baby showers, and more!

Suzy graduated with her Masters and Meghan threw her an adorable party complete with a surprise visit from her parents. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I got from the night!

My Aunts invited Suzy and I out to the Canvas and Cocktails at the Springfield Art Association. I am not artist but we had a blast!

We had a backyard Baby-Q for Baby Waylon. What a spoiled and loved baby already! I can't wait to meet him in August.

And my baby brother graduated from High School! I still can't believe it.
So proud of you, Bubba!

And adding this one just because I think she is so cute..

Get Skinny

I am not sure if it's the warm weather, the Color Blaze, or the encouragement of a few friends but I have been on a major get healthy and get skinny kick!

After signing up for the Color Blaze, I thought I better start training (even if it's not timed I want to get into running anyway). I decided to download one of the Couch to 5k programs to help. Per the recommendation of a friend, I went with 5K Runner. It's an 8 week program with 3 runs/ week.

I am only on week two but I love it. It is crazy how much better I feel and how much motivation it gives me to keep going. I hope I still have the same thoughts come week 8. :)

On a slightly different level, but same concept.. I did another Crash Diet (shocking, right?). This time I tried the 3-Day Military Diet. Supposedly, you should loose 10lbs in 3 days.

Here is the plan (No Substitutions):

I did really good for the first two days but come day 3 I was completely exhausted! It probably didn't help that I was running 2+ miles during 2 of the 3 days and only putting in maybe 1000 calories.

My total loss: Only 3 pounds. I guess that is good for 3 days but was it worth it? I didn't think so.

Anyway, I guess I will be trying the old fashion way.. healthy food choices and exercise!

Color Blaze

I have finally decided to register for my first 5k. I have never been much of a runner but recently had the desire to become one. When I found out that there was going to be a Color Blaze 5k here in Springfield I thought it would be perfect for me. Not too serious but a ton of fun!

I recruited a couple friends and made a team. If you are interested in joining us in a colorful mess let me know. It's going to be a blast!

Impromptu Girls Day!

My girlfriends and I had an impromptu Mini Girls Day. We met up in the morning at JP Kelleys for their Bloody Mary Bar. They give you pen and paper and you get to choose what fixins you would like.. You even get a small beer chaser. Yum!

Cheese, Pickles, Peppers? Oh MY!

We had TWO delicious drinks then headed over to Cafe Moxo for some lunch. Before we knew it.. we had talked each other into doing a little shopping!

Gotta love those random, perfect days!

Cowgirl or Cowboy?

My cousin is 20.5 weeks pregnant and it was time to find out the gender of their little bean. They coincidentally had their gender appointment on their 2nd wedding anniversary - How cool?

Laurie decided to throw a Gender Reveal Party that evening with close family and friends. If any of you know Laurie, she had to get people together soon because she isn't very good at keeping secrets! :-P. Actually, she spilled the beans to her close friend in the short time she knew.

We all gathered around the pinata while the kids took turns trying to bust it open..Oh the anticipation!

They finally got it and out fell candy and a note that read...

It's A BOY! -- I knew it! :)

Laurie and Daniel you are both going to be fantastic parents and I couldn't be more excited for you.

XOXO

Oh, Mother Nature...

Oh, Mother Nature, get over yourself. First day of Spring and only 28 degrees and now you followed up with 18" of snow. Enough already.

I guess I will be working from home today!

On a brighter note, I got to spend more time with Miss Nay this weekend. I just can't get over those sweet smiles.

Nakey baby = Happy baby

St. Patricks Day better than Christmas?

Ok, so St. Patrick's day is NOT better than Christmas but I think it's pretty close.

This year for St. Pat's, I met up with a few friends for "breakfast" at our local Irish pub. Who would have thought they would open for breakfast but not actually serve breakfast food? Fine, pony shoe and a bloody mary, please!

We finished up there and headed over to Megan's for a little pregame then headed downtown to the parade/bars. It was so cold this year we didn't end up seeing much of the parade at all. Mother nature put a bit of a damper on our whole day but we still had some fun. :)

Suzy and I

 Me and Megan

The Group - That got split up way too quickly :(

One of my absolute favorite parts of this day is that I have fun, party all day but I am always home and in bed by a decent time. Which means, up early and feeling great the next day. This year was special because my sister, Ashleigh, was watching my niece at my house. So I got to spend some QT with this little sweetheart on Sunday...

Nayomi

It doesn't get much better than that. :)
